Dear New Hobby,

I remember when all my high school friends were using you. I often saw them zipping up and down the entrance to the school. We went to the park and I was left walking behind as they rode the paths. But not anymore, thanks to you. Well, and the fact that I haven't been in high school for years and haven't spoken to majority of those friends in a long while. Don't feel bad, people grow, stuff happens!

Anyways, longboarding with the wind in my hair has offered me a new hobby. Actually, no, I wear a helmet and barely feel any wind. You have given me many bumps and bruises since I started riding. Many falls and accidents, like the small dent in the dryer, sorry mom! Despite this, I want to thank you. You have offered me a new escape, a way to travel, and most importantly a common interest between myself, my sister, and my boyfriend. Our boards all match, and it is so adorable. Being able to share this with them, makes buying you a million times more worth it. Now people see us zipping up and down our driveway and zooming on the trails... Again nope, I'm not even close to good enough yet.

I'll get there and I can't wait. I know the bumps and bruises will continue and falls will be common. But I'm ready for the challenge.

Thank you for giving me this new outlet. I'll be feeling the wind in my hair soon enough.

P.S. You could start going a little easier on me though, like I know rocks get in the way but maybe you could try not throwing me off everytime you go over one.
